He was preceded in death by his parents James and Teresa Lacona, his daughter Valerie Lacona, his sister Josephine Bristow and brother Frank Lacona. He is survived by his wife Mary, his children, Victoria (David) Tagli, Chuck Lacona Jr., Vanessa Lacona Devine (Curt Hutcheson), Jim (Katie) Lacona, Joe (Robin) Lacona, his brother Noah (Sally) Lacona, sisters Dorothy Lacona and Rosemary Lacona as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was very proud of all the restaurants that his family had served in Des Moines for the last 60 years including Noah's Ark, Mama Lacona's, Bambino's Restaurant (will be closed on Saturday), Café Di Scala, Frank's Pizza and Lemmo's Pastries. He enjoyed handicapping horse racing, woodworking, playing bocce ball, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Anthony's and had owned and operated Mama Lacona's Restaurant since 1957 along side with his wife Mary and family. Friday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home where there will be a 6:30 Rosary service. The family will greet friends from 3-8 P.M. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at St. 78, of Des Moines passed away on Jsurrounded by his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.Ĭharles J.
